About me

I am a computational astrophysicist working on general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic (GRMHD) simulations of astrophysical plasmas accreting onto compact objects. My research interests include accretion disks around black holes, jet-launching mechanisms, relativistic reconnection and dynamos, magnetorotational core-collapse supernovae, and their multi-messenger signatures in neutrinos and gravitational waves. I am an expert in High-Performance Computing (HPC) scientific applications that run on several supercomputing facilities across Europe.

I was recently awarded an ERC Starting Grant for my project BlackJET, which will focus on the multi-scale modeling of long gamma-ray bursts (i.e. from the stellar collapse of a massive star to the associated multi-wavelength electromagnetic emission).

I am a researcher at the Department of Astrophysics of CEA-Saclay, working on the numerical modeling of extreme stellar explosions and gamma-ray bursts. As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at the university of Turin, Italy, I worked on the development of the astrophysical code gPLUTO and the modeling of magnetized accretion flows around black holes. As a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Astrophysics of CEA-Saclay and at the Institute of Astrophysics of Paris, I studied the dynamics of magnetized core-collapse supernovae connected to the formation of magnetars and the launch of gamma-ray bursts.
